This Privacy Policy explains how 2179503 Ontario Ltd., operating as Gurus Consulting (“Gurus Consulting”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information across gurus-consulting.com, including our consulting services and the Gurus Resume Builder application at gurus-consulting.com/resume. We comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information you provide. Contact details submitted through our contact form or newsletter signup (name, email); booking details when you schedule a call; account information when you register for the Resume Builder (name, email, password, target role); resume content you create or upload, including files submitted to the free ATS scan; and payment information when you subscribe to a paid plan.
Information collected automatically. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and, where you consent, analytics and advertising cookies described under “Cookies” below.
We use personal information to provide and improve our services: to operate your Resume Builder account, score and store your resumes, generate AI-assisted rewrites you request, process subscription payments, respond to inquiries, deliver newsletters and job-referral emails you signed up for, and analyze how our sites are used so we can improve them. We do not sell personal information.
We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf: Stripe (payment processing — we never store your full card number), Mailchimp (email newsletters and lead management), Anthropic (AI text processing when you use resume rewriting — only the text you ask to rewrite is transmitted), Acuity Scheduling / Zoom (call bookings), IONOS (hosting, with data stored on servers that may be located outside Canada), Google Analytics, and — with your consent — advertising platforms (Meta, Google, Reddit). Each provider is bound by its own privacy obligations, and information may be processed outside Canada, where it is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to the Resume Builder. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only where you have given consent through our cookie banner, which you can change at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Account data and resumes are retained while your account is active. You may delete individual resumes at any time, and you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing us. Anonymous scan uploads are processed to produce your score and are not retained as documents; the email you optionally provide to unlock a scan report is retained for the purposes described above. We keep transaction records as required by Canadian tax law.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent to marketing at any time (every email includes an unsubscribe link), and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe we have not handled your information appropriately.
Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to production systems is restricted.
Our services are intended for working professionals and are not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
